Biography:

Nathan MacDonald studied Theology and Hebrew at the University of Cambridge before completing his PhD at the University of Durham. From 2001 until 2009 he taught Old Testament as Lecturer and later Reader at the University of St Andrews before leading a research team at the University of Göttingen. In 2013 he returned to Cambridge as Lecturer in Hebrew Bible. His research interests include the Pentateuch, and the use of warfare texts in biblical theology and history of Israelite religion. He is currently the managing editor of the Journal of the Bible and Its Reception.

Key Publications

Dr MacDonald has published widely on the Pentateuch and its interpretation. His most recent book Priestly Rule: Polemic and Biblical Interpretation in Ezekiel 44 was published in 2015.
